The MBA Tour is looking for an Area Manager:

The Area Manager is responsible for supporting and managing full-time client relations and market development for North America; and being a Tour Leader for domestic and international tours

  • Manage client university relationships with an agreed portfolio of top business schools across North America for TMBAT, including development and engagement strategy with MBA marketing and admissions directors.
  • Survey clients and MBA students to monitor appropriateness of current services and programs.
  • Be the main conduit of information between assigned schools and TMBAT; Includes development of tour-related publications, communication of optional activities to tour attendees, and collecting feedback, etc.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of TMBAT products and services and client use of those services.
  • Stay current with world events that impact demand for MBAs in different countries and regions.
  • Research and further develop database of North American clients and partners assisting with international tours.
  • Identify key admissions consultants, test prep centers, and key players in the media and press and cultivate relationships.
  • Provide insight and support development of new programs or enhancements to our offerings that address client needs.
  • Travel and lead tours; Includes planning and executing events and activities while on tour and training junior tour leaders; Activities include assisting with tour communications to schools, coordinating production and organization of tour-related materials (e.g., registration materials), developing and updating tour itinerary and working with the tour leaders and Events Senior Manager on tour logistics; Manage set-up of events and coordinate on-site registration with local contractors.
  • Establish a close working relationship with colleagues in GMAC Connect product teams and GMAC Market Development to address the needs of client schools proactively.
  • Ensuring CRM database updates on an on-going basis.
  • Website maintenance and updates to tour member’s web pages.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business.
  • Minimum of 4 years of commercial experience in account management, preferably in a knowledge-based professional services sector; Or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
  • Superior analytical skills and ability to prioritize objectives.
  • Self-starter and motivated to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team.
  • Friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Strong networking skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; Strong attention to detail, with a keen focus on quality.
  • Comfort with multi-tasking.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Fluent English.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time, domestically and internationally.
